An estimated 5 million passengers are expected to travel by train from April 1 to 4 for next month's Tomb-sweeping Festival, a rise of 7.4 percent from last year, Shanghai railway authorities said Thursday.
Roughly 40 extra trains will be added to operations during the holiday period to serve a daily passenger volume of more than 1.2 million people and a peak passenger volume of 1.4 million people on April 2, said authorities.
