The State Council, or China's Cabinet, on Tuesday announced the appointments of three senior officials.
According to a statement, Chen Shun was appointed as assistant minister of education, and Qiu Xiaoping was appointed as deputy head of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, replacing Sun Baoshu.
Chen Jining was appointed president of Beijing-based Tsinghua University, one of the country's premiere institutions of higher education, replacing Gu Binglin.
The Cabinet also ended Wang Yuci's post as deputy head of the State Post Bureau.
