Higher requirements for car emissions may come into effect in five months in Beijing, making the city the first in China to adopt a standard roughly comparable to the EU-enforced Euro 5, the Beijing Evening News reported yesterday. Vehicle models of lower emissions standards will be pulled off Beijing's market, if the new standard, referred to as Jing V, is passed.
