(Ecns.cn)--Ticket prices for some tourist spots spiked to over 100 yuan during the three-day Tomb Sweeping Festival holiday, revealed the Xinhua News Agency on Wednesday.
Increased maintenance fees, an unreasonable product structure and irrational competition among various scenic spots led to the steep prices, analyzed Lou Jiajun, a professor at East China Normal University.
A recent survey of more than 1,000 web users showed that 89.2 percent believe that tickets prices are prohibitive and have dampened tourist enthusiasm for travelling.
Ticket prices for 5A-class tourist attractions should be kept within 100 yuan, according to over 90 percent of respondents to another survey. About 60 percent even suggested 60 yuan.
Zhong Xuecheng, a web user, noted that related authorities should set up a mechanism to regulate ticket prices of scenic spots, build a healthy tourism market and protect the rights and interests of tourists.
