At the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Beijing Monday afternoon, continuing his four-day official visit to China.
Before arriving in the Chinese capital, Erdogan visited Urumqi, capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Sunday.
During Erdogan's stay in Beijing, Chinese President Hu Jintao, top legislator Wu Bangguo and Vice President Xi Jinping will meet with him, while Wen will hold talks with the Turkish prime minister.
In addition, Erdogan will attend a Turkey-China business forum with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Erdogan will also fly to China's financial hub of Shanghai and deliver a speech at Shanghai International Studies University.
In an interview ahead of the visit, Erdogan said that political relations between Turkey and China are at a good level.
"We are continuing with our efforts in order to ensure the positive reflection of this, especially in our commercial and economic cooperation and other fields," he said.
