The Tibetan Mountaineering Assembly that features climbing expeditions, lectures and meetings will be held in Tibet from April 28 to May 6, organizers said in Lhasa on Monday.
Nyima Tsering, chief of the Tibetan Mountaineering Team, said that about 50 mountaineering fans have registered for this season's assembly and more are expected to come.
The participants will climb Mount Qizi and Mount Thanglha Ngomchu, both over 6,200 meters high and located about 90 kilometers away from Lhasa, capital of the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
The organizers have arranged experienced coaches, assistants and rescue teams to help in the biennial event. Besides, Conquerors of all the 14 mountains higher than 8,000 meters in the world will also attend the assembly to exchange with amateur climbers.
