Chinese shuttler Chen Jin continued his momentum by beating Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia 21-14, 21-9 in Tuesday's men's singles first round at the 2012 Badminton Asia Championships.
China's badminton armada also showed their domination as all of their eight shuttlers in men's singles won in straight sets.
Chen, who is fighting hard to be among the top four to earn a third ticket for China, met little resistance from Chong and sailed past the first round.
"In the first set I was a bit irritable, but in the second I gradually found the rhythm," said the 26-year-old former world champion.
Two consecutive victories recently in Switzerland and Australia lifted Chen to the fourth place in the Olympic ranking, ahead of Peter Gade of Denmark. However, Chen still needs to put out his best in the last two tournaments in Olympic qualification in order to ensure his Olympic ticket.
Top seed Lin Dan had an easier time against Japan's Riichi Takeshita, winning 21-13, 21-8 in just half an hour, while second seed Chen Long cruised past India's Kashyap Parupalli 21-9, 21-13.
Other Chinese shuttlers in men's singles, including Wang Zhengming, Zhou Wenlong, Gao Huan, Chen Yuekun, Du Pengyu, all entered the second round.
Indonesia's former Olympic gold medalist Hidayat Taufik retired from the match, sending his Japanese opponent Takuma Ueda into Wednesday's second round.
