The 110-kilometer-long Jing-Mi (Beijng-Miyun, Miyun is a county of northeast Beijing) water diversion canal is a large water supply for Beijing.

It is the main source of water for residents, industrial use, rivers and lakes of Beijing. Starting from 1961, the canal transfers 330 million cubic meters of water to downtown Beijing annually and is listed as the Class I water source protection areas.
