China's meteorological authority said Sunday that strong rain will be seen in the country's southern and southwestern regions over the next three days.
Rain will fall in Yunnan province from Sunday to Monday, with its central-northern region seeing precipitation up to 40 millimeters, the National Meteorological Center said in a statement on its website.
From Monday to Tuesday, heavy rain and rainstorm will hit regions along the Yangtze and Huaihe rivers, the Sichuan Basin and regions south of the Yangtze River, the center said.
The country's winter wheat growing regions and spring sowing areas in provinces of Shaanxi, Henan, Jilin and Heilongjiang are also expected to see light to moderate rain, the center added.
Meanwhile, temperatures will reach 30 to 33 degrees Celsius on Monday in most parts of north China and some parts of regions along the Yangtze, Yellow and Huaihe rivers, the center said.
Starting Tuesday, however, high temperatures will ease in some parts of these regions thanks to a cold front and ensuing rain, the center noted.
