The Chinese national team holds on to its 66th spot as soccer' world governing body FIFA released the latest world rankings on Wednesday.

China, who didn't play any top world class games recently, maintained its fifth spot in Asian countries with a total of 508 pionts, gaining five more points than last month.

Argentina moved above Denmark into ninth place in the FIFA world rankings, the only change in the leading positions following a quiet month of international soccer.

World champions Spain continued to top the rankings ahead of the defence of their European Championship next month with a total of 1,442 points, followed by Germany.

Germany stayed second with 1,345 points, above Uruguay who climbed to their highest ever position of third in April with 1,309 points.

FIFA will next update its rankings on June 6.
