Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Wednesday night watched a stage performance spotlighting the history of Beijing.
The stage performance, named "Tian'anmen" after the major Beijing landmark, blends dance, opera, acrobatics and musical performances into a single show, recapturing historic moments such as the igniting of the torch for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.
Li described the show as being novel, well-performed and demonstrating an effective coupling of science and technology.
Li watched the show with 3,000 audience members at the Beijing National Indoor Stadium. The show will be staged from Wednesday to Friday.
