A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with Laos Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong on Monday to discuss party-to-party relations.

China and Laos share similar political systems and ideals, said He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

"Both parties and countries sincerely trust and cooperate with each other," a press release from He's office quoted him as saying during a Monday meeting with Thongsing, who is in Beijing to attend a trade fair.

He, who is also head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, hailed the current state of Chinese-Laos political ties, as well as the cooperative efforts undertaken by both countries in multiple fields.

He called on both sides to hasten exchanges between government departments at several levels, as well as deepen cooperation regarding ruling and governance.

Thongsing said he appreciates China's support for his country's construction, saying his party and country will work to boost bilateral ties and implement agreements reached between the leaders of both nations.
