A senior official has called on members of the country's political advisory body to provide more constructive and practical advice on stable economic growth to the central authorities.
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remark at a CPPCC meeting held on Tuesday in Beijing.
The 18th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will be held in late June, according to the meeting.
The session will be of great significance for the CPPCC before the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Jia, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Jia noted China's economy has developed in a direction envisaged by macro-economic control so far this year, but it still faces many new problems.
The official called on members of the CPPCC National Committee to undertake deeper research as a way to better advise on social and economic development.
