One hundred outstanding children were commended by the Shaanxi provincial government on May 30 to celebrate International Children's Day, which falls on June 1.
Li Jinbin, director of the Organization Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, expressed his warm congratulations to the children, who were commended for working hard in their studies and for their good behavior in caring and helping others.
Li said that the provincial government pays great attention to children and has projects to provide better conditions for children, especially children in rural areas and children of migrant workers left behind by their parents.
More than 1,000 child representatives from all over the province took part in the celebration, which was held in a primary school in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, and the children performed programs to celebrate the festival.
