China and Thailand are to send teams to compete at the Ho Chi Minh City International Men's Volleyball Championship running from July 20-27, said a Vietnamese official on Thursday.
The two foreign volleyball teams are from China's Shanghai and Thailand's Royal Air Force club, said Mai Ba Hung, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Hung told the press conference in Ho Chi Minh City that together with two foreign clubs, four local teams will join the tournament, which is a good opportunity for players to improve skills for the upcoming National Championships.
The six teams will compete in a round robin format. The top four teams will go to the semifinals.
