Zambian President Michael Sata met on Saturday with Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC).
Wang delivered to Sata a letter signed by Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President. In the letter, Hu called for further friendship and cooperation between China and Zambia.
Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Zambia more than 40 years ago, the bilateral relations have achieved fruitful developments, the letter said. Chinese Communist Party is willing to conduct diversified cooperation and exchanges with the Zambia's ruling party, the Patriotic Front, on the basis on independence, equality, mutual respect and non- interference.
Sata said his government pays high emphasis on Sino-Zambia relations and that contributions made by China to Zambia's development is appreciated. Sata also called for more Chinese firms to invest in Zambia.
During the meeting, Wang said CPC and Chinese government would continue support and assistance to the development of Zambia. He also called for further cooperation in all aspects between the two countries.
