An elevator maintenance man in Tongzhou district was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon when an elevator being serviced suddenly moved and caught him in the shaft, the Beijing Evening News reported yesterday.
The mechanic was working on top of the elevator when it started moving up. He had his shoulder stuck between the elevator top and the outer doors.
Authorities have yet to figure out what caused the elevator to move.
