Bus crash kills 1 in Beijing

A bus and a police car collided in downtown Beijing Friday, killing one person in the police vehicle, witnesses and police said.

The accident took place at about 1:40 p.m near the Sanlitun shopping area. The police car was almost completely crushed by the bus, witnesses said.

Witnesses said a person wearing a police uniform was crushed to death inside the car.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
