102 Party members expelled in Shouguang

A total of 102 Party members in Shouguang city, in East China's Shandong province, were expelled from the Communist Party of China this spring, People's Daily reported on June 11.

Among the 102 Party members, 68 of them were expelled for violating the discipline or law and 34 for "not conducting their role properly", the report said.

According to the report, Shouguang government introduced a Party member "purity" system this year, which includes an annual assessment of Party members and re-registering every two years.

During the re-register section, Party members who have violated the law or discipline including the one-child policy, follow an "evil" cult or haven't performed Party members' obligations will be expelled from the Party, Li Bingquan, vice-minister of the organization department of Shouguang city's Party committee, told the paper.

Furthermore, Shouguang developed an online quality control system for probationary Party members and those who have applied to join the Party. They have to pass five stages and 30 sections before becoming an official Party member. If the person fails to meet the standard in one section, the system will end his examination process, the report said.
