Two consecutive earthquakes measuring 4.8 and 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted the sea off the east coast of Taiwan at 05:01 p.m. and 05:07 p.m. Beijing Time Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter of the 4.8 quake, with a depth of 9 km, was at 23.7 degrees north latitude and 121.6 degrees west longitude.
