Apart from international cooperation's, domestic cultural exchanges are also happening. The Chinese dance drama: "The Moon Over the Helan Mountain" has been staged in Beijing, as part of the 4th annual Minorities Art Festival. The show is based on the folklore of Hui people, bringing the audience to northwest China's silk road.
Under the moonlight, a unique dance drama is being staged.
The four act show tells the story of a merchant's travel and a complicated yet moving love story with a local girl along the Silk Road. It features sceneries of Helan Mountain, Yellow River, deserts, and grasslands.
Yan Hongxin, general manager of YinChuan Art Theater said, "The theme of this dance drama is unity of ethnic minorities. The drama has won a lot of awards and was selected as one of the 10 masterpieces of China's stage art."
The drama debuted in 2007 and had been staged hundreds of times.
