Burglaries on the rise

Burglary cases are on the rise in the summer as residents living in houses or on low floors of apartments often open their windows for cool air during the night, said police, the Beijing Evening news reported Tuesday.　

On Sunday, six homes were burgled, and a total of 10,000 yuan ($1,573) worth of belongings was stolen in the early morning in Nanhu Zhongyuan compound, in the Wangjing area, Chaoyang district, the Beijing News said Monday.
