China issues declaration to protest Vietnamese law of sea

Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday issued a declaration to protest against Vietnam's passing of a national law of the sea.

Vietnam National Assembly on Thursday passed the Vietnamese law of the sea, which included China's Xisha Islands and Nansha Islands within Vietnam's sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun also summoned Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho on Thursday to lodge a solemn representation to the Vietnamese side on passing a national law of the sea.
