Top 10 most needed jobs in China 2012

Software engineers have been the most saught-after job by Chinese companies since January of this year, according to the "Best Job" rankings of 2012, published by 51job.com, a leading recruitment website in China.

The rankings were based on the most frequently posted positions by companies on the website from January to May this year. The criteria for selecting the "best job" for job seekers included six positive traits: salary, career prospects, working environment and equipment, decency, professionalism and job satisfaction; and four negative qualities: pressure, physical stress, career risk and company strength.

  10# Financial manager(财务经理)

Ambitious financial managers can eventually seek promotion opportunities as financial director, chief financial officer (CFO), chief accountant, and vice-president in charge of finance. Working in a listed company is preferable.

9# Store/Floor manager(店长/楼面经理)

Store and floor managers are in charge of purchasing and human resources, which can test individuals' managerial and organizational abilities. This field is increasingly attracting talented professionals.

  8# Internet marketing(网络市场营销)

Considered as one of the top 10 highest-paying jobs in the next 10 years, the salary of an internet marketer now has already surpasses that of civil servant and doctor. Since qualified talents not only skilled with technology but also with marketing prove to be scarce, the demand for talented individuals for these positions will continue to be high.

  7# Financial/Investment consultant(理财/投资顾问)

Being familiar with every kind of financial and investment product, a financial/investment consultant is an attractive gold-collar job. In 2011, the average annual salary an experienced consultant was believed to reach 500,000 yuan (US$78,550), and some of them could even earn one million yuan (US$157,100).

  6# Purchasing manager(采购经理)

Purchasing managers are so important to a company that there is an indicator ― Purchasing Manager Index (PMI) ― to describe not only the health of the manufacturing sector, but also of the economy as a whole. High salaries are usually paid for this position to ensure honesty and fairness.

With the rapid development of China's heavy industry, electric and auto manufacturing industries, the demand for mechanical engineer has continued to be high in recent years. As such, mechanical engineers enjoy numerous opportunities and continued high demand for their services.

  2# Designer(设计师)

Although designers deal with a lot of pressure to meet deadlines, the delight and sense of achievement is attractive to many job seekers. As design work relies on the design individual's ideas and skills, the employers rely heavily on these employees. High income, comfortable environment and flexible work time make the designer a wonderful career. Furthermore, the more experience they have, the more money they will make.

  1# Software engineer(软件工程师)

Despite some hurdles in the development of the electronic and semiconductor industries in China recently, software engineers are still one of the highest demand jobs in the market, especially in mobile communication sector. The annual salary of a newly college graduates can easily reach 100,000 yuan (US$15,710).
