A retired teacher and 11 of her former students were poisoned by carbon monoxide after they had lunch at a hot pot restaurant in Nongda Lu, Haidian district, Saturday, the Beijing News reported Monday.
The teacher, surnamed Bai, said one of her students felt dizzy and nauseous during lunch, and then more students said they had the same sickness. Hospital tests showed carbon monoxide poisoning. The restaurant said they would compensate the victims.
