Four die from poison gas

Four men died in a basement due to carbon monoxide poisoning in Xibahe, Chaoyang district, Tuesday morning, the Beijing Evening News reported Wednesday.

The four men were employees of a telecom company, who worked and lived in the basement. They were attempting to restore Internet access by using a generator after a power cut Monday night.

The preliminary investigation by Chaoyang police showed the four men illegally used the generator and were poisoned by its fumes.
