The central government on Friday allocated 777 million yuan (about 121.9 million U.S. dollars) in disaster relief funds to ten provincial areas that have been plagued by natural disasters.

The funds will be used to settle relocated residents, subsidize the daily needs of disaster-affected people, rebuild houses and provide pensions for the relatives of the deceased, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Several provincial-level regions, including Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Xinjiang have been hit by natural disasters recently.

Statistics show that the two ministries have allocated a total of nearly 3.25 billion yuan in natural disaster relief funds and subsidies so far this year to help disaster-affected residents.
