China's Ministry of Commerce on Friday preliminarily ruled that the United States and the European Union have dumped ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether on the Chinese market.
"During the investigation period of the case, Chinese producers of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether have suffered material injuries," the ministry said in a circular.
The dumping practices of the US and the EU and the material injuries have a causal link, according to the circular.
The ministry said it will require cash deposits as anti-dumping measures.
As of July 28, Chinese importers of the investigated products from the US and the EU should provide cash deposits to the Chinese customs authority based on the decided dumping margins of different companies.
The dumping margins of companies from the US and the EU ranged from 9.3 percent to 18.8 percent, according to the circular.
The ministry initiated anti-dumping probes into ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether imported from the US and the EU on Nov 18, 2011.
