Art lecture @ UCCA

A lecture hosted by the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) as part of their "Touching Art History" series will be held at the center's La Suite building this Saturday. Artists slated to talk include Stéphane Maggiacomo and Hou Wei, who will discuss renowned Indian artist Hema Upadhyay's photographs and sculptural installations, particularly My Mini Town comprising of tins and boxes.

Pianist Wu Ying @ Forbidden City Concert Hall

A concert by Chinese pianist Wu Ying entitled "Happy Family" will be held at Forbidden City Concert Hall this Thursday night. Songs to be performed include "Estampes" by Debussy, "Symphonische Etuden" by Schumann and "Piano Sonata No.7" by Scriabin.

Pianists Shao Dan and Wu Peixi will perform in support.

Student films @ CGV Cinema

Free screenings of Chinese high school students' DV movies will be held at the CGV Jiangtailu Cinema this Friday. The screenings, held as part of the Duoduo movie workshop, will be followed by a dialogue between students and South Korean director Kim Ji-hun. The students' short films reflect their observations of society and school life. Under the guidance of teachers, students shot, edited and produced the films from Monday.
