A newborn baby boy was rescued after he was trapped in a toilet bowl when his 20-year-old mother, surnamed Song, gave birth in a public toilet in Ciqikou, Dongcheng district on Saturday morning, the Beijing Evening News reported.
The baby was retrieved by local residents who heard the baby crying and rushed to help. Song came to Beijing to find a job two weeks ago, and she insisted that she did not know she was pregnant. Mother and baby are doing well.
