Shanghai residents will be able to know just how much longer it will take that taxi to arrive thanks to a new application that the taxi company Qiangsheng will test before the end of the year, according to a report Sunday in the Shanghai Morning Post.
As part of a pilot program, Qiangsheng will equip 10,000 of its cabs with global positioning systems (GPS) so that passengers can check their location through an application on their mobile phones, so long as the user's mobile is also equipped with GPS.
