Top legislators of China will discuss several draft laws about mental health, safety of special equipment, tourism, and environmental protection during a session scheduled from Aug. 27 to 31.
The upcoming bimonthly session was announced after Monday's meeting of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, which was presided over by Chairman Wu Bangguo.
Legislators will review, for the first time, draft laws on special equipment safety, tourism law and amendments to the Environmental Protection Law.
They will continue to review draft amendments to the Civil Procedure Law, the Law on the Popularization of Agricultural Technology and Mental Health Law.
During the session, legislators will review the State Council's reports on the implementation of the country's national economic and social development plan, the use of the central budget, as well as ensuring essential financial support for county-level governments.
They are also expected to review a report on the enforcement of the Law on the Protection of Disabled Persons.
Legislators will also discuss appointments.
