Five people remained in hospital Friday after a train collision at a railway station in Jiamusi City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
A total of 24 passengers were sent to the Jiamusi Central Hospital for health check after two trains collided on the platform at 5:24 p.m. Thursday. There were no casualties.
By Friday morning, only five of those injured remained in hospital. None of them are suffering life-threatening injuries, according to doctors at the hospital.
Investigators said a locomotive driving four empty train cars bumped into a stationary train as passengers were still disembarking.
Investigators said the car-hauler was travelling at 10 km per hour, when it hit the passenger train. The speed, however, is much higher than the required 5 km per hour for car hauling within the railway station.
The Harbin Railway Bureau, which administrates the Jiamusi Railway Station, is still investigating the incident and has promised to hold those responsible to account.
