Chinese special envoy holds talks with Sudanese officials

The Chinese government special envoy on African affairs Zhong Jianhua on Tuesday held talks in Khartoum with a number of Sudanese officials as part of his visit to Sudan on Aug. 27-29.

A news release by the Chinese Embassy in Khartoum said the Chinese envoy met with Sudanese Vice President Al-Haj Adam Yosif, Vice Chairman of the ruling National Congress Party and assistant to the president Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie, State Minister of Foreign Affairs Salah Wanasy and Speaker of Sudanese Delegation of Negotiation with South Sudan Dr. Mutrif Saddiq.

"The two sides exchanged views about relations and pending issues between Sudan and South Sudan," noted the release.

The Chinese ambassador to Sudan Luo Xiaoguang attended the meetings.
