Danish Minister for Business and Growth Ole Sohn is leading a business delegation to China in a bid to deepen ties in the fields of tourism, patents and shipping.
"Tourism between our countries not only creates business advantages. Tourism is also one of the most important tools to improve understanding between our cultures," Sohn said in a speech to representatives of the Chinese and Danish tourism industries.
"I can assure you that the Danish Government attaches great importance to tourism and our longstanding relationship with China," he added.
In addition, the minister will discuss strategic cooperation with senior Chinese officials in the areas of patent and shipping, according to a statement from the Danish embassy in Beijing.
The minister's visit to China is scheduled from Aug 26 to 30. During the visit he will have meetings with officials from bodies including the Ministry of Transport and the National Tourism Administration.
