Crane collapse kills 2, injures 1 in central China

Two people were killed and one was injured when a crane collapsed at a building construction site in central China's Hubei Province, local authorities said Wednesday.

The accident occurred at around 6:50 p.m. in the provincial capital of Wuhan, sources with the city's firefighting headquarters said.

Upon arriving at the site, firefighters found that two people had been crushed to death and one was trapped and injured, the sources said.

The injured person was pulled out and sent to a nearby hospital, but his condition was not immediately known, according to the sources.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
