Service on a subway line in the southern boomtown of Shenzhen was suspended for more than six hours on Wednesday due to a tripping problem, local traffic authorities said.
Several trains stopped on the Longhua Line at 1:37 p.m., and subway traffic did not resume until 8:04 p.m., according to the transport commission of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province.
Officials said no mass passenger stranding occurred due to quick handling of the emergency and closing of affected stations.
