Man jailed for trading fake job for money, sex

A man was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan ($790) for swindling sex and more than 10,000 yuan from four women under the pretext of getting them jobs with a European airline, Xuhui District People's Court said Thursday.

The 28-year-old defendant, surnamed Jing, was charged with fraud for promising the women jobs in exchange for money and sex, according to a court press release.

Jing came up with the scheme after he saw an advertisement for flight attendants on the website of the German airline Lufthansa, the court said. He spent the next four months posting the information on local social media websites, along with his personal contact information.

When women called about the job, Jing posed as the deputy director of human resources for Shanghai Aviation Service Corp, a company that helps foreign airlines recruit locally, the court said. He arranged to have the women meet him alone in a hotel room. At the time, he was working for a five-star hotel in Xuhui District.

To make the swindle seem real, he forged an employment contract with the company's seal. When the women met with him, he showed them the contract and asked for sexual favors and cash, the court said.

All together, the four women gave him more than 10,000 yuan in hope of signing the contract, but it never happened, according to a press officer surnamed Wu from the court.

Jing was caught in May after one of the women reported him to police.
