State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu met with Malaysian Home Affairs Minister Hishamuddin Tun Hussein in Beijing on Monday.
Strengthening cooperation in law enforcement is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, Meng said, adding that the two sides have established mutually beneficial and cooperative relations.
Meng called on both sides to further implement a cooperative agreement on combating transnational crime and enhance their efforts to cooperatively maintain cybersecurity and fight terrorism.
Hishamuddin thanked China for its support, saying his country is willing to work with China to promote pragmatic cooperation in tackling transnational crime and protecting social security.
