China has issued a draft proposal on the development of entertainment venues to ensure they are up to standard and meet regulations.

The draft, published at the official website of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council on Monday, stipulates that no partition walls should hinder the full view of private rooms in public entertainment venues. This includes screens and wooden partitions, and no rooms should be built within rooms (toilets excluded).

Bar counters and dining tables in boxes at venues should be no higher than 1.2 meters and windows should be above 1.2 meters, the draft said.

The draft also said that before entertainment places are set up, relevant departments should go to sites to examine the areas, locations and surroundings.

Public entertainment venues should hang up an operating license in conspicuous places and put clear signs banning or limiting the entrance of juveniles, the draft said.

People can submit opinions to the Ministry of Culture via email or letter before Oct. 17.
