Vice-President of the Seychelles Danny Faure on Wednesday met with a high-level delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by Huang Xianyao, member of the standing committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee.
During their talks held here, Faure, also secretary general of the Seychelles People's Party (SPP), spoke highly of bilateral relations and expressed his thanks for China's help in the economic and social development of the Seychelles.
"Seychelles and China shared traditional friendship. I hope that we can further enhance coordination on bilateral ties and international affairs," Faure said, adding that the SPP will strengthen high-level communication with the CPC, hoping that the SPP will get more help from the CPC in the aspect of human resources.
Huang said the two countries have committed themselves to mutual respect, equality, mutual support and have developed bilateral cooperation in various fields in a steady and healthy way since they established diplomatic ties in 1976.
"The China-Seychelles relationship has been a model between a big country and a small one. The CPC cherishes the friendship with the SPP and is ready to make joint efforts to promote friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries," Huang said.
Huang arrived in the Indian Ocean island country on Wednesday at the invitation of the SPP. Huang also met with Seychelles Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam and the party's Chief Executive Officer Olsen Vidot.
