British teenager Laura Robson continued a fantastic run of form as she beat seventh seed Peng Shuai to claim her place in the last four of the Guangzhou International Open.

Robson, who won a silver medal playing with Andy Murray in the mixed doubles at the London 2012 Olympics, broke her Chinese opponent three times, including a telling break in game 12, and sealed the victory 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 in the three-hour games.

The youngest player in WTA's top 100 defeated another Chinese home favorite, the second-seeded Zheng Jie, 6-3, 6-3 in Wednesday's games.

Robson burst onto the senior scene in a major way with her win over Kim Cjijsters and Li Na at the US Open weeks ago, which helped propel her into the top 75 in the world.

Robson will meet Sorana Cirstea in the semifinals after the No 3 seed eased to a 6-4 6-3 win over Alize Cornet.

The second semifinal will be between Ursula Radwanska and Hsieh Su-wei.
