On the evening of Sept. 22, a hot pot banquet was held in the gymnasium in Wuxi City, east China's Jiangsu Province. More than 1,000 local residents were invited to enjoy the hot pot with a pure taste of Chongqing.
Hot pot is the most famous and favorite dish in Chongqing. Chongqing people consider it a local specialty, which is noted for its peppery and hot taste, scalding yet fresh and tender. Nowadays, as a matter of fact, Chongqing hot pot is famous and popular all over the country.
Thin sliced raw variety meat, fish, various bean curd products and all kinds of vegetables are the main ingredients for the hot pot. All of these are boiled in the soup, and then you can dip them in a little bowl of special sauce.
