An exhibition of rare cultural relics from the Gyeongju National Museum of South Korea opened to the public on Tuesday at the Shaanxi History Museum in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province.
The two-month free exhibition displays 327 rare relics collected by the Korean museum, to help Chinese visitors better understand Korean culture and history.
Gyeongju, a city in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula, was the cultural center in ancient Korea and had exchanges with China as early as in AD 382.
In 2002, the Gyeongju National Museum and the Shaanxi History Museum started cultural exchanges.
Early this year, the Shaanxi History Museum held an exhibition of cultural relics from China's Tang Dynasty (AD 618–907) in Gyeongju.
