2012-09-26 08:46 Xinhua     Web Editor: Liu Xian comment

Liu Yunshan, publicity chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Tuesday urged people working in the literary and art circles to craft more works of excellency for cultural prosperity.

Liu, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, made the comments while attending a seminar on the award-winners of this year's "Five-One" program.

The program, launched in 1991, is designed to produce a good book, a good opera, a good film, a good TV drama and one or more good articles annually in China.

The official called on the people in these circles to work with lofty cultural ideals and artistic aspirations in order to live up to people's new expectations for cultural life.

Liu said efforts should be made to honor the contributions made by literary and art workers and to nurture more young talents and cultural celebrities in these circles.
