Heavy fog caused eight traffic accidents early Thursday on a highway in north China's Tianjin municipality, leaving three dead and 14 injured, local authorities said.
The accidents happened between 6:30 a.m. and 6:35 a.m., damaging 31 vehicles, an official of the municipal government said.
All the injured, including two seriously, were taken to hospital.
As of 1 p.m., traffic resumed along the highway linking the city center and Jixian County.
