Vietnam-China Friendship Association celebrates National Day

A meeting to mark the 63rd anniversary of China's National Day (Oct. 1) was held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Thursday.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Xuan Thang, chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, congratulated the Chinese community in Vietnam on the special event.

He said during the past 63 years, the fraternal Chinese people have made remarkable achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the Vietnamese people wish the Chinese people to sustain achievements in national construction.

Kong Xuanyou, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam said China and Vietnam are friendly neighboring countries and the two peoples have long-lasting traditional relations. The two sides should work together to deepen the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation, which is conducive to the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, the maintenance and development of the socialist cause and regional peace, stability and prosperity.

More than 100 people from Chinese embassy in Vietnam, the Chinese enterprises in Vietnam and Vietnamese friendly personages from all walks of life attended the celebration.
