Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Nabil El-Arabi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr on the sidelines of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters Thursday.
In his meeting with El-Arabi, Yang said China and the AL have seen a rather sound development of their relationship.
China is willing to work with the AL to expand and deepen all-round cooperation, and further promote their strategic cooperative ties, he said.
El-Arabi said the AL would like to enhance communication and coordination with China in both regional and international affairs.
In meeting with Amr, Yang said the ties between China and Egypt have grown increasingly close, with their cooperation of mutual benefit ever expanded.
The two countries have also maintained communication over regional and global issues, he added.
China will work with Egypt to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, conduct more pragmatic cooperation in various areas and deepen their strategic cooperative ties, Yang said.
Amr, for his part, said Egypt wants to join hands with China to increase political mutual trust, expand trade and economic cooperation, promote people-to-people exchanges so as to promote bilateral ties to a new higher level.
