Police seize 8,700 illegal vehicles

Local traffic police seized more than 8,700 illegal vehicles in a two-week campaign to crack down on illegal car plates and driver's licenses that started on September 1, local traffic police said Thursday.

Traffic police have been setting up checkpoints at intersections in the city to search for possible violations and illegal vehicles such cloned taxis. They found more than 20,000 violations.
