Couples marry on 10/10

A total of 1,262 couples registered for marriage in the city Wednesday, according to civil affairs authorities.

Ten is considered a lucky number, and local authorities have seen a large number of marriage registrations on October 10 in recent years. The record was set in 2010, when 10,150 couples registered.

Authorities predict that the number will continue to drop in the near future because the city's population of young people is in decline.
